Trail Description:
At Bidwell Park, take the North Rim trail. Follow it up to the top and then enjoy the trip back down. It is all singletrack and verty technical. A ton of fun.
How to get there:
From downtown Chico ride your bike down 5th street heading east. follow the signs through 1mile and 5mile park. till you reach upper bidwell. The Northrim trail is hard to miss.

Hey Michelle, sounds like Trailer Park Pete got a couple of pancakes on the trails. Gotta watch out for those pinch points between the rocks and your tubes. I love upper bidwell. we are so stoked to have such amazing riding areas. See you up the hill!

this trail is a majer leg breaker its rocky,dry and steep but a good trail for expert trail riders but if your new
dont be scared advanced skill does not mean anything try it it's rewarding mucle wise and mental. P.S. dont ride during mid summer.

take upper trail to the end and down live oak for some sick downhills. or take lower trail(right above the main road)until it ends and continue along the main road until the end, then look for yahi trail(look out for rangers, big ticket but well worth it) which will be between you and the creek. take that until brown hole and ride the main road again until bear hole, where you'll start back on yahi again, take that all the way back to the stairs. from my house in downtown chico it's about 20-25 miles. great ride during the summer months!

My local ride.... smokin singltrack- hammer yerself- start at one mile- ride to upper- take the north rim trail.. cruise up to the live oak trail (dont be allergic to poison oak)- then blaze this downhill to the dirt road- hang a left cruise the road to the end- catch a quick section of singletrack- cross Big Chico Creek... nuther quick setion of singltrack.. hang a right on the dirt road... prepare for a helluva grinder climb...you can take the first right on singletrack0 and cruise the south rim... or suffer for another fifteen minutes and catch the pine trail (singltrack off to right of trail)- either option will dump you out on the south rim trail. roll back into town.... drink Guiness at Duffy's Tavern to revitalize your er...ahhhh... nutritional needs....hate to say it, but be sure to lock yer bike up well round these parts if yer gonna leave it anywhere...

$There is also a rim trail on the South ridge of the creek, it is called South Rim, Far more technical and fast!! North rim has mostly rock and lava flows, while South Rim has more bushy and singletrack trails, but almost no rock towards the rim. Although both rim trails are great, and have swichbacks & straight downhills just about every 200 feet on the way up. I grew up in Chico and the foothills above, and I miss those trails!

Ps.. wach out for hikers, some of the downhills don't wanna let you stop, so I advise putting a rattle or bell on your frame so they can hear you before you fly into them.
