Ride Summary:
Oxbox Park has varied terrain that is excellent for beginners and intermediates.

Trail Description:
This beginner/intermediate trail has a little bit of something for everyone. Views of the Sandy River, roots, sand, wood chips, hay, gravel, more sand, horse manure, stones, and one incredible hill climb. Added bonuses are all the trails are very well maintained (little if any overgrowth) and few people (if any) will be found hiking or mountain biking the trails (they are all at Powell Butte). The ride up to Alder Ridge/Elk Meadow is quite a feat and anyone who can make it without stopping is indeed ready for the next level. The mile or so ride around the meadow offers some breathtaking views of the river/valley below. The rain brings out tons of snails on the meadow trail. The snails, mud, and spider webs will probably make you think twice before riding it during the rainy season. Do watch out for the sand-especially when roots are about. One wrong move and you'll probably end up doing a face plant.

How to get there:
The most scenic drive is to take Exit 18 off I-84. Head south on Southeast Crown Point Highway. Several miles down the road will be the Stark Street Bridge. Turn right on Stark Street Bridge and follow the road several more miles to Troutdale Road. Turn left on Troutdale and follow the OXBOW park (green) signs. Troutdale Road intersects SE Division at a fork in the road. Make sure you veer left. After a stop sign you should be heading EAST on SE Division. Continue on down the road until you reach a large "Oxbow Park" sign. Turn left and follow the road to the parks entrance. After paying ($5 per car) and perhaps getting a map head 2 miles down the road and park at Group Picnic Area A. The bike trail starts on the North side of a large field. (See map).

good for beginners and imtermed use if you have a good attitude alot of the trails have "no bike" posted so "legally" there is hardly any trails to ride anymore the horse trail at the top of hill is pretty fun Bring a few freinds and suppliment your trail ride with a few runs along the main road and you have a fun day and a good workout

Great trail riding if you just want to go out for a few miles. There is plenty of riding to do on the single track portions you just need to get to the top of the mountain. Just finished last weekend doing 12 miles of it.

Cool old growth but not worth the fees. I had an annual Northwest Forest Parks Pass, an annual Oregon State Parks Pass, and a Sno-Park permit in my window and still had to pay the $4.00 at this 'Metro' Park. Lame.

The entry fee at Oxbow is $4, not $3.

I want my 3$ back. If you add up all the trails on the map there are only 4 miles of them. It is about 6-7 trails that are all very short and boring. I should have brougt a fishing pole instead :(.

If you are going to ride here call first and check trail conditions!!! The flooding has washed out huge sections of trail all along the river. It will be repaired, until then don't bother!!
