Trail Description:
Long established private property, now a public King county park. The IMBA afilatte BBTC MTB club has lobbied for 3 yrs to insure that it will remain a bike freindly area with sucess.
BBTC trail improments have begun April 24 1999 National Trails day with a KC park land manager. More Trail improvments,Reroutes and new trails are planned, they need riders to help out with improvments to make the park a even better area.
A gravel road that follows the Issy Creek leads to the main trail that climbs up with 3 options, the easyest is to keep left untill you reach the power line, take a r' and try and find the loop (maps in Zilly's book Kissing the trail). There are quite a few trails left, but beware of the development area, where as in most privite property you trespass at your own risk. This place has and can be great with improvments. It is opened year round and has a rocky surface. Lots of climbing we hope to add switch back to reduce the climbing so more riders can enjoy the trails.
How to get there:
Easy access of of I-90 exit 20 across form hiker heven east tiger mt in Issaquah, 10 min from seattle, dirt parking lot but beware of break in's. Many Grand Ridge Vets park in downtown Issaquah and cross under the hwy bridge after the ride, stop at the Issy brew pub.
Additional Notes:
Come on out for and ride the trails and come help out with trail improvments for your public trails,

Pretty sweet trail, I rode it from the power line road down on the Issaquah Plateau to the Preston RR entrance. I took a few side paths and they were good. The parts I rode were mostly steep, lots of climbing in low gear and then bombing down. Watch out for lots of stinging nettles!

Those great people at WTC have done it again...you rock...they added about a mile and a half, maybe two miles to one of the best trails in the area. Thanks for the hard work.

Talked with a guy from Washington Trails Club, he said they were planning to continue the trail to Dewey Park or at least the road by early spring. It's a bit wet in places now but always a great work out if you start at the Highland Drive exit from I-90 and ride up and over, it's 12 miles with two great climbs and two great decents. Superb singletrack well maintained. Thanks and big time props to the people who cut these trails YOU ROCK!

If start from bottom on old rail road grade climb is
crazy and end up on grandridge drive at the top of
the issaquah highlands, continue over the black top
into second half of trail which is where they have
been doing all the work. Trail end abruptley in
middle of woods they are not kwight done with
tying the trail up to issaquah fall city road.
Going down is fast. full susp or hard rip.
Make sure u have plenty knobby tires for the
knarley climb.

Damn! someone needs to get up there soon. King county has been busting ass on these trails, and I heard word that once the trail is completed down to the Issaquah Fall city road that you will enter into a mountain bike park that Bbtc and king county are working on!

Definitely been changed by the Issaquah Highlands Development but it is still a pretty nice little short singletrack workout...emphasis on short! The few loops all seem to be in good condition. I just rode it today after work.

I rode 4.5 miles up this yesterday on one of my Singlespeeds (32:18). Other than the very steep initial climb, this was very doable with one gear. The vertical gain is about 900 feet. There is some beautifully groomed singletrack up there, as well as some very rough (on a rigid SS, anyway) rock garden sections of the trail. I didn't explore too much, I plan to go back with my FS bike. There is a new road on top of the ridge and some kind of development going in. In the fog, it was spooky. I ran into a local rider doing some trail maintenance on a muddy section of trail. When I came back down, he had armored the muddy section with large cobbles. Very nice. This area has the potential to be a larger network of trails, even connecting to the roads on the north side of the ridge. Happy riding! Singlespeeds rule!

I used to ride this all the time before Issaquah's grand views of development ruled supreme. It will never be as cool as it used to be. I found 2 remaining trails and one new one. It is a pretty good ride down, but otherwise there are only about 45 minites of exploration to be done. I agree with some ambition, this could be recreated into something fun.

i rode this trail last weekend; it's "ok"; construction has changed the upper part; there are still trails but more "hiking" trails than good single track mountain
