Makiki Trail Complex

Trail Description:
These great trails are part of the Honolulu Watershed Reserve. The trails are technically challenging and fun. You'll find narrow twisty singletrack with steep climbs, fast decents, rocks, roots and a few big drops to keep it interesting. The heavy vegetation keeps the trails wet almost all year. There are some dangerous cliffs and heavy vegetation can hide some obstacles.

How to get there:
Take Ke'eaumoku Street off H1 and go north to Wilder Ave. Turn righto onto Wilder and then left onto Makiki Heights Drive. Follow this to the "T" in the road and turn right and follow this until you reach Triangle Park.

This trail system is OFF LIMITS to mountain bikes. The watershed reseve is very fragile and erosion can cause severe damage. At every trailhead there are sign postings warning not to ride these trails. Do not disrespect the Aina!!! Go someplace else!!!

I have lived in Hawaii all my life. There is no better system of integrated trails than"Tantalus".However, these trails have been a victim of Politics! They have been off limits tobikers for a few years now. I give you fair warning:get caught, and pay the Piper, or do as I do and ride like the wind!Trail is always wetso bring good tires!
