Rode this trail yesterday... up 72 to 7250 then 210 to the Dalles Ridge trailhead, about 10.2 miles. Easier climb than FS 7174, which is just over half the distance, but still a grind. Took the Deep Creek trail down for the first time. This trail is pretty beatup at the top, and very technical. Even more so than Ranger Creek... large root drops, water boards, and loose and rutted trail that eventually mellows out to some nice flowy track but not for a couple of miles. Definitely an expert descent, I'd never actually smelled my brakes before... not even off Ranger Creek. If anyone thinks mountain bikes don't rip up trails, go ride Deep Creek... even Ranger Creek for that matter. Tread lightly, watch out for hikers and enjoy!

The 6 mile 3000+ ft climb earns you 12 miles of uniterupted downhills teaming with sick views and as much speed as you dare. A little more climbing at the end. Back up white creek trail towards your car and you will be siked when you see it.

I love the Noble Knob--Rode it today. Trail has been maintained well. One of the best around. 3k climb is tough but worth it! Watch out for CD root route/Sanders shoulder"II".

Just rode the trail and it still has alot of snow up at the top. Originally we were trying to ride Ranger Creek trail but couldn't cause too much snow. We had to turn down deep creek. Give it another couple of weeks before trying it unless you like walking through snow. The down hill was worth it, though.

Jeez! What kind of a route description is this? Are we talking about the Noble Knob trail from Corral Pass? If so, lets use some common terminology, trail names, and numbers!! If not, how bout some additional description -- based on the original, it could be virtually any trail off Highway 410 between Greenwater and Mt Rainier! The additional instructions of the Noble Knob ride should be posted under that name separately.

Grego, Thanks for the directions. I followed them and they are very precise. A great scenic technical ride. The original directions do stink.

To ride down the Deep Creek trail follow these directions. Drive 410 east toward Mt Rainier. Just past Alta Crystal resort(Milepost 56) turn left on gravel Forest Service road #7174(Corral Pas road). Drive up this road .7 miles to small dirt pullout on the left ( this is the trail head for White river trail #1199). Ride up Road #7174 from here climbing for 5.3 miles to a t-intersection at Corral Pas and turn left here. At the road end 5.5 miles take Noble Knob Trail 1184 on the right. Reach a T at 6.0 miles and turn left onto double track. Stay on main trail (Noble Knob #1184) until reaching Deep Creek trail(marked) on the left. Take Deep Creek trail down (steep)to intersection with White River Trail #1199 and take left following white river trail #1199 back to your car.

Perhaps it is a good ride. The directions stink. I ride that valley all the time. I thought Deep Creek was up by Alta Crystal. I need specifics.
