Ride around the gate and up the fire road for about one mile. Turn right at the main intersection. Ride up, through narrow trees. Watch out for tree root in this next section. Turn right at the next intersection in the clearing. Go through the mud bogg and up the other side. This next section can be quite technical. Just beyond this point you have the choice of going straight or right. If you choose to go right follow it around untill you come to another gravel road and turn left. Ride up till you come to a real narrow trail on the right. This is easy to miss is you are not careful. Follow this downhill to the intersection where you could choose your route. Feel free to explore the are, there are other trails.

How to get there:
From Seattle take I-90 to exit 32 turn left and head towards the stop sign at the end. then turn left. At about a quarter mile turn right on to the Mt.Si rd. follow this road for about 3-4mi. Past the developement,Riverpoint and 1 quarter mi past look for a gravel turn around on the left. Park an ride around the Yellow gate.

The trail as described in the description was shut down awhile back when the owners got fed up with ORV's tearing around and dropped wood across all the trails including the DH which cut back down to the Teneriffe road. The ride as described by the individual known as Mike who posted in 2002 is the Teneriffe road which ascends steeply and ruggedly to the saddle between Mt Si and Mt Teneriffe. I have pushed a 50LB DH bike up this road and ridden the whole thing in less than 15 minutes for 2.5 hours worth of pushing. Teneriffe road is a trainer, a jeep road and not a trail. In sunmmary the trails described in the introduction are GONE. Don't waste your time.

I around the gate that he describes and continued up on the logging road. It was very scenic and relaxing for about 20 minutes -- then it started climbing up the south face of the mountain, super steep! The road continues switching back and forth up the mountain with rapid elevation gain. I had to walk in some parts, but I'm sure some riders would have been able to ride it. After almost 2 hours (4-5 miles?) I reached the top and was rewarded with a beautiful view of Mount Raineer to the south and the valley to the west. I explored the ridge and realized that I could traverse over to the peak of Mt. Si. I had to ride back down the road a mile or so before I found a former logging road that was nearly overgrown and had kelly humps carved into it for about 1/2 mile. Eventually the overgrown road turns into a trail and merges with the very popular hiking trail right at the base of the Mt. Si rock. Bottom line - it was a great way to kill the day. 3 hours up, 15 minute
