It is a Dificult but fun trail. The chutes and quick flowing turns add some challenge to the trail. It starts out in a short technical section which quickly changes into a long open chute. Then comes a long section which rolls through the woods and then opens up to a open sandy area. The trail has various types of terrain which make the rider change styles of riding.

How to get there:
Take 96 to kensington road. turn right onto kensington road and go past grand river. It comes up quickly on the right.

Brought the mountain bikes from Wisconsin to Ann Arbor for the weekend. Hit up the Poto trail at Pinckney on Saturday and headed to Island Lake today. The Blue trail was not special -- it was indeed 9 miles of some beautiful scenery, but definitely beginner level. There were a few decent stretches, but even at full speed, I probably would not hit it again. After pounding out 9 on the Blue, I gave the 6 mile "Yellow trail" a shot. This was much better -- certainly not technical, but this was a great trail to bust out and go hard to work up the heart rate. These trails are a fare cry from the technical Poto trails at Pinckney, but I would hit the Yellow Trail again next time I'm in the area. Later on and enjoy.

whent on the yellow trail took it a bit to become intense but great ride for beginners

Sorry but nothing on these trails is difficult. Surprising to me that the shorter yellow trail is rated harder than the blue. Very easy ride and I am just a beginning in this sport and not really too fit. I have riden locally Brighton, Highland and Pontiac, these are soooooo much better and more technical. These trails are really family ones which is cool if you are looking for something different to do with the kids but for most riders who want to escape the world, don't head here as it can be crowded and slow due to family riders.

This trail is great for a weekend ride. It is a great beginner trail. I am a beginner and I got going 20.5 mph on the yellow trail. These trails are great trails and I would suggest you to go there.

There are actually two (2) trails. Blue is Flat & Fast!!! Yellow is a few mph's slower and more difficult. Can be crowded by Y-bikes (I'm sure they never need to engage the rear suspension!!) on the weekends. All around a fun trail!!!! Yellow trail is 6.5 Miles. Blue trail is the one described acurately above. LTJ Bukem Rules.
