Trail Description:
The Saint Joe State Park is one of the biggest ORV parks in the mid west. You'll find eqestrian trails (23 miles) that are open to bikers as well. You'll also find 11 miles of paved trails and many more miles of ORV trails and dirt roads. This may be the best riding in Missouri. The trails are not too technical but there is a wide range of terrain with a few steep sections. The ORV section takes you through sand flat which can be hard to negotiate on a bike.

How to get there:
The St. Joe State Park main entrance is located off Hwy 32, just west of U.S. Hwy 67 near Flat River, MO. Take the Pimville Road once you enter the park and head to the park office or the bicycle staging area just to your right. Maps are available at the park office.

From St. Louis take I-55 south to Festus, MO. Then take the exit for Hwy 67 South toward Park Hills and Farmington. Follow US Hwy 67 until it intersects with MO Hwy 32. Turn right onto MO Hwy 32 west and follow it to the park entrance on the left.

From Farmington take US Hwy 67 north to Park Hills. Once in Park Hills, take a left onto MO Hwy 32 west and follow it to the park entrance on the left.

From Sullivan take MO Hwy 185 south all the way Potosi. Once in Potosi, MO Highway 185 will intersect with MO Hwy 21 south. Follow MO 21 south to MO Hwy 32 East. Go left onto MO 32 east and follow it to the park entrance on the right.

While I have't ridden in close to a decade, my bike is in the shop and i'm starting to get back out... st. joe is 2 miles from my house and a great place to ride.. avoide the ORV area as they are crazy... people get flown out every weekend due to motorcycle and 4 wheeler accidents.. however, if you can get to the horse trails, the paved trails, or be lucky enough to stumble upon the trails that are not marked, maintained or public knowledge, that is where the real riding is. Come explore as there is more than a weekend of riding from paved to technical. Hopefully as I get out this winter, I can find some good places and will share as I find... good luck and have fun

St. Joe State Park bike trail is not a technical ride. It's a 34 mile paved golf cart path, with with an interesting history. There are alot of other trails in this area for those looking fore the bleeding edge.

This is a great park for the whole family. There are easy places to turn around or you can take the whole trail and enjoy the climbs.
