Mount Pickett Loop

Ride Summary:
Located in Moran State Park on the beautiful Orcas Island, the Mount Pickett Loop is a great ride for a first ride with your significant other. Not overly challenging but fun with a taste for what mountain biking is like.

Trail Description:
Dual and singletrack with some paved and gravel roads. The trail winds along Mountain Lake which you can spot through the trees. Orcas Island is one of the most beautiful spots in the world and is worth the visit for this fact alone.

How to get there:
From Anacortes, take a ferry to Orcas Island. Hit the main road and follow to the "Y" in the road. Hang a left and proceed to the "T" in the road. Make a right and follow the signs east to Moran State Park. Just past the tiny airfield you'll find the park entrance.

Additional Notes:
Trail is used by hikers as well.

This is a totally lame report. This loop is on Orcas Island, in Moran State Park. The summit of Mt Pickett is 1750 feet. The mountain biking in the state park is excellent. Talk to the kind folks at Wildlife Cycles on Orcas for the local knowledge.Thanks.
