Ride Summary:
One of the major mountain bike trails on Tiger Mountain.

Trail Description:
This technical yet short single track located on Tiger Mt. attracts many folk. Although the ride comes up rather short in distance the somewhat technical single track portion make for epic riding. Although this trail may not provide you with the killer downhill which it's neighbor does, the Preston Railroad Trail, you can count on an exciting ride with many challenging obstacles such as big roots, mud, rocks, streams, big trees, rabid cougar, humans, dogs, horses and vert!

How to get there:
I-90 to exit 25 (the highway 18 exit between Issaquah and North Bend) South on 18 for 4.5 miles. At the summit turn right into the lower lot...drive through go right up inter the upper lot a few hundred yards up the gravel road. Map in center of parking area.

Additional Notes:
Trail closed Oct 15 - Apr 15. Please respect the trail and ALL it's users! Look at the map at the trailhead.

This is a good trail to warmup on before heading up to the Preston trail. It was closed for a spell last summer while the upper edge of it was being logged, but was opened again later in the summer.

It was open and will be open again next year. I live on tiger and have not heard anything to the contrary

I know it's closed for the winter now, but the last time I tried to ride Iverson (this last summer '06) it was closed for logging, did it re-opened anytime this last summer? Does anybody know if it will be open this next summer (April 15 '07 to October 15 '07)?

Just got back from riding Preston and got caught in the dark. It get's pretty spooky out there by yourself...with no lights. Won't ever do that again! Preston is great but I wish Iverson was longer. Preferred loop is go left on fireroad, take Iverson over to main fireroad, up to Preston and back across on NW Timber singletrack.

I love this ride! I like to do the fat hand trail clockwise, out and back on the northwest timber trail, and then do the fathand trail again counter clockwise. Preston rail road is also a good trail in this area, but in my opinion not as challenging or technical as this one. Plus, the 3 1/2 mile fire road climb up to preston is long, grueling and boring.

All three Tiger Mtn. trails continue to improve due to volunteer efforts. Because I'm telling you that this trail has been improved to the point of being a "must do," I'll insist that you at least make some effort to physically maintain it on your trip.During the loop it felt like I climbed 200 ft. and dropped 1000 ft. Obsticle "options" throughout. My loop today included Fat Hand/Preston/NWTimber. Someday we could open/build other stuff if the DNR would listen to our numbers.

I have rode the Preston R.R. trail probably 20 times this year and have gotten a little bored with it. It needs some more spots to air it out and get wild. Now comes my point. I have lately retried the Fathand trail. It is so fun and technical. I ride it for a few laps each time to get the mileage. The steep butt-over-the-back sections are awesome and the fast rocky sections get me so psyched. I rode it just last week (9-10-01) and its fast, smooth, and less crowded than the Preston. That's it. Stay cool, ride fast, and watch for the guy with the LTS1 with long travel Manitous....

FUN,FUN,FUN!!! To bad the mountain is closing, but next season will be here soon. Get a map and design a loop. I road for 15+ miles of roots, rocks, and cramping fingers. Lot's of air, and lots of fun. Only 5 days left, sounds like just enough time for at least 1 good ride. See ya there

I didn't listen to the notes on this page and had the really unforgiving climb at the beginning. The trail seems to be made for one-way travel. Best to climb the fire road to the left and start the trail from that side. GREAT technical downhill at the end. Short, but a real blast!

This is an excellent trail. If you ride one direction you get a very technical descent and the other direction gives you an unforgiving climb. Either way, you get a wonderful ride through lush ferns and grand trees all 'round. While you'r there don't miss Preston Railroad trail and the Northwest Timber trail. I can't wait for spring when the trail opens up again.
