This is a great trail. I just went there yesterday. I read an article in the Oregonian that it had been reopened to bikes. After my ride, I stopped by the ranger station, and picked up a flyer for the trail. It does say hiking only, no mountain bikes allowed. Not sure why, I had a blast. The trail is well covered with pine needles, I caused no trail erosion.

Someone's got their info wrong. The Clackamas River Trail (#715) is NOT open to bicycles, but the Riverside Trail (#723 IS). Before getting into namecalling, you might want to check your facts!

I'm a weekend warrior, and this trail is a blast! Not too hard, not too easy. I recomend it!!!!

A really fun trail for the intermediate rider...several bridge crossings(caution: slick when wet)...a little bit of everything...rolling hills, steep climbs, root bundles, small rock gardens, tight/steep switchbacks, exposure, and great views. Trail starts about .25 miles into Rainbow Campground.

Permanantly closed due to death. Not temporarily, but permanant as of summer 2005. $365 ticket if caught on trail.

This trail can either be great or torturous. It is definitley not for beginners. There are very technical sections that if missed you'll end up falling off a cliff. This is a bike trail but because of fallen trees they may temporarily close it. Just ignore the signs and carry your bike over the fallen trees. There is alot of elevation gain and loss so be prepared. Over all this trail is worth a try.

This trail is not that tough of a workout. The only thing to watchout for is steep dropoffs and hikers. I ride like once a month, if that, and can handle this trail. It is a ripper.

This trail is closed to bikes. Total loser move going out there. :(

After reading the other comments, had to find out for myself if this trail was mild or spicey. It's both... a few washed out switchbacks exist where you could drop off a cliff. It was semi-damp for our ride, so we walked the real threatening sections. It was sweet technical in several areas - those big roots at the top of a steep climb, or tight turns between tree trunks. Go slow and its mellow. Fast *could* be nasty.
