Ride Summary:
Del Cerro has something for everyone and is the closest and most convenient riding area in the South Bay.

Trail Description:
It mainly consists of a main fireroad which leads gradually down to horse ranches and Pacific Coast Highway.

However, for the adventurous, there are fun semi-challenging singletrack available. The typical loop follows the fireroad from the gate for about 100 yards to a quick warmup singletrack to the right which runs along the fireroad. From there, you take a short climb to the left of the water tower then down to a good swtich back trail off to the right. There are a few other options which branch off of these trails, but they all lead back to the main fireroad.

How to get there:
From the 405 freeway, exit Crenshaw Blvd then make right heading south. Take Crenshaw Blvd south all the way to the end in Palos Verdes and park either in the cul-de-sac or to the right at Del Cerro.

It's nice to see the Pentium brand still kicking around after all these years, and Acer has put it to good use in its Aspire V5 laptop-www.ahappydeal.com

To start from the bottom, park on top of Schooner Drive, ride downhill and turn right (west) on Palos Verdes Drive. Ride for just a few minutes and enter at the small opening in the fence where there is a big dirt lot.

Awsome trail for riders of all expirance... some great single tracks, and a fun freeride section.. the key is to explore off the fire roads. Iyou go left of the water tower and go up a little hill you will see a fork go left and just follow it down, it is prolly the best single track ride in del cerro

Fun stuff here, you have to earn it though. A fun ride down and a long ride up. Get off the fireroad for more fun. A lot of great things to do here if you investigate! I posted some pictures but for some reason they won't show 'em? Remember the clue....get OFF of the fire road!

RPV Bans Mountain Bikes From Many Trails Nick Green DAILY BREEZE. Daily Breeze. Torrance, Calif.: Dec 5, 2004. pg. A.3 Mountain bikers who use the 160-acre former quarry known as the Forrestal property in Rancho Palos Verdes will soon find themselves banned from more than half the hilly trails there that they currently enjoy. The Rancho Palos Verdes City Council made the surprise decision Saturday at the conclusion of an all-day workshop, attended at its peak by more than 100 people, that was held in part to determine trail usage on the tract. The unanimous decision stunned local cyclists and staff of the nonprofit Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, which is managing the land for the city. About 45 meetings over the past three years have been held to carefully craft a plan for trail usage that balanced the competing concerns of hikers, conservationists, cyclists and equestrians. Such a drastic reduction in trails mountain bikers could use was not contemplated in th

I just tried this trail for the first time and it was a blast. Many options to choose from and a great view. On downside is that you go downhill first then you have to make your way back up the fire road.

Jack B Nimble is right on with this trail. I find that it's become quite congested on weekends. Make noise if you intent to go down fast, or you may have an unpleasant encounter with a horse or any number of other types of trafic. Be nice to horses. They rule up here, and if we are good little dirt devils, we will be able to play here forever. "Funland" The best ride in Palos Verdes is now history, thank God we still have this little rip left. Peace! ;-)
