Trail Description:
This cool 700+ acre county park just north of Detroit offers an excellent trail system. There is a wide variety of terrain and many marked wooded trails.

Trails range from easy to moderate. Look out for three challenging hills and a few turns in loose sandy soil.

How to get there:
From Detroit, head north on Rochester Road from Rochester, then turn to the west on Romeo Road. It's about two miles to the park entrance which will be on your right.

I've been on the two dirt trails last year! Both of them are epic because there were steep hills, a few bridges, and a lot of skill to master the trails. It's the nearest place with MTB trails close to home. The park is just miles west from where my mother's sister lives at. Anyone who lives in the Thumb Area oughtta go there and experience the fun, and the adrenaline. That'll make their hair stand on the back of their necks! If you wish to run a circuit lap using the two dirt paths, here's what to do: You'll be leaving the South trail and entering the back straightaway northbound on the paved Buhl Lake Trail. Follow the paved trail until you see a sign with the bicycle on it. Take a right-hand turn there, experience the fun on the second dirt path, and then you'll exit the trail moments after the last bridge. You'll be following the Buhl Lake Trail and reach the Recreational building. That will be your lap using the dirt paths. My family will b

It ‘rocks’ when you enjoy a good trail. Say, have you checked out the Trail Advocacy link just on the left listed under the Trail Guides heading? Please remember it’s only as good as the effort that’s put into making it that way and it can disappear tomorrow. Please do your part. Thanks

Hit the trails today for a quick workout. Nice park, entry fee for non-resident ($8) was a little steep, and the trails could be labelled better. Their condition is very good though and I was impressed by the course overall. You'll have a good time here.

If you want a fast quick workout during lunch or between appointments, this is a good trail to do it. There are 3 loops that run around two lakes. The trails are easy to moderate, with light roots, and some sandy areas. The area is very scenic, with two wooden bridges and lake scenery. So if you're day was hectic or you just hate the office, check this fast outlet, but don't expect any hard climbs, switchbacks or narley stuff.
