Trail Description:
Varied terrain with something for everyone. Many of the trails climb up the ridge (300ft+ vertical) and wind around. There are some very technical climbs and descents. All trails are rideable. You don't have to carry your bike. As with most NJ area trails, it can get very muddy after a rain or in the spring.
How to get there:
Located off of Route 22, it is located on Chimney Rock Rd. From Rte 22 West, you can go directly onto Chimney Rock Rd. North to a park entrance on the right. From 22 East, you need to take the overpass (Thompson Ave.)just East of Chimney Rock Rd. and loop back over 22.
Additional Notes:
This is one of my favorite areas. Be polite to hikers and other trail users so we don't want to loose access.

When this trail is dry and you are there with a small
group it is fun. But, when the trail is wet it can get
very dangerous. Make sure you know when and
when not to go.

Very nice, rocks where ever you look, and open easy down hill trails.

What can I say... this is what you get for someplace that is cheap (free) and not maintained by any organization. It is extremely dangerous since the trail isn't even groomed and going above 5mph is too fast. Might as well walk down the trail cause this is mountain climbing. I ride regularly at Snowshoe Park in Virginia, Diablo Mountain, and Whistler. I thought it might be a good place to get my bike dialed in but it turned out to be a disaster. There are no trail heads and no signs. If you break a leg or ruin your bike, it is hours of walking. I would not recommend this to anyone since it is in the middle of nowhere and in a reservation.

This is the best place in the area. I use to love Watchung Reservation before they closed it MTB's because the horse riders were complaining. This is a great park with many trails if you have the heart t ride them all. It is basically 3 sections of riding. And you can ride all sections in a loop to turn it into a great ride. But if you like techincal stuff and some good climbing and fun single track this is the place.

really well done and well maintained courses. really really twisty on the parking lot side trails. one of the most "brain intensive" courses i've ever been on. few long decents but the ones you do get have something challenging and fun at the end of them.

The Rock as we locals call it ROCKS.....it is a good small park with many trails if you have the balls to seek them out. And trust me I have the balls....It is basically 3 sections of riding. Most people are not awar of th emanysections and how best to loop the into one great ride.
But if you like techincal stuff some good climbing and fun single track this is the place...and easy to get to..Peace out YO!
