I go here all the time. There is good stuff all around. If you go off to the right and down from parking lot then up a wide trail there is a pretty good jump.

most trails there are relaxing and easy. to get to the toughest stuff there head in about 100-200 meters from where the houses fell into the river, that is the toughest trail there, and I have coverd that whole area a million times. The best trails in edmonton are at 23 ave, park in the valley, if you can take the trail to the north that stays on the creek slope without wiping out you are better than me, but I doubt it.

Doesn't Compare to anything in the big mountains, but I live 10 minutes away on my bike and it Satisfies the Soul on a week day evening with friends. Great place to train if your a racer.

This is where I leant to mountain bike. You can start out from a wide and flat trails which are normally used for x-country skiing. Then you can move onto narrower, heavily rooted, winding trails. Then go on to the same stuff in the steeper and steeper hills. Some of the local races and skills classes take place there as well. Only thing is that there are many walkers with big dogs off leash. So when you come down a narrow and steep turn in the forest, you should make sure not to run them over. If you like the snow, you can ride there all year round. Thanks to the skiind demand, the trails are often packed well throughout winter.
