It is a totally paved trail. You can get to it by going south on Wantagh ave. till the very end. Then make a left. The entrence will be on your right. Park in the parkinglot where you see all the kids and parents loaded down with water ready for there TREK to Jones Beach. One note. When you start on the trail and you smell something funny. That small is comming from the sewage treatment plant which is on the water at the end of the park. The park is truly in Wantagh but it is on the Seaford boarder. Times to avoid this trail: 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, any day that is nice and the kids are off from school, and windy days. The trail runs over marsh land and there are no trees to block the wind. added plus: great stripe bass fishing under the bridges.

1. It's a shared path. So watch out for other folks (kids with mindless parents, bikers talking on the cellphone, bikers stopping on the middle of the causeway, etc.)
2. 5 miles and that's about it. On one side its highway, the other, vegetation.
3. Crossing the three bridges is the part I hate (trying to put it nicely) coz of the narrow path - narrow to fit a bike, one way.
4. Ok for slicks, bad idea for knobbies - its all asphalt!
5. Just watch out for the highway - you never know what may fly onto you (strip of tire, pebbles, car with drunk driver lol). On some parts of it, your about a bike's length from the highway.

Jon,I think you have the wrong trail. The Cedar Creek trail is in Wantagh NOT Babylon. I wish the person who posted this original listing would give some specifics.

The trail runs along the Wantagh Parkway from Cedar Creek Park in Wantagh south to the Jones Beach boardwalk. It's all paved road and there are plenty of pedestrians and rollerbladers to share the path with. It's an OK ride, but it isn't a mountain biking trail at all. Just a plain ol' path. Enjoy it anyway. -J.

I live in Babylon and have not been able to find this trail. How about some specific directions?
