Have ridden the North Central rail-trail from Pleasantville to the Pa line with Christian boys group several time and we find somthing new every time. You can make a day of it exploring the river which runs parallel for many miles. Take the fishing pole along and a picknick lunch for a really great time. Only short fall is the lack of camping. There are none. Lots of walkers so watch out.

This trail offers excellent aerobic conditioning, that lasts for miles. It's a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

As of August 28, 1999, this rail-trail--the Heritage Rail-Trail (formerly the York Heritage Rail-Trail) will extend to York, PA. This is also a rail-with-trail. It is better to go to Cockeysville, Maryland (this portion of the rail -trail is called the Northern Central Rail-Trail) to start this trail. It is a slight up-grade that way coming back you are headed downhill and can fly back.
