This is a great trail for beginners and experienced riders alike. An excellent ride to get yourself in shape before going on those long trips to other sites. Conveniently located in the middle of Memphis. The Tour is a pretty quick trail, but has several good climbs and switchbacks through the woods, and a few surprises along the way. The last mile is a little dull, but is good for a rest or a cool down. You can also skip the last mile and continue back at around mile 2 to make multiple laps through the entertaining hilly and wooded section.

I give it Excellent rating because its fun, little technical, and super fast! Plus, its in the LARGEST park inside a city in the USA! I mean, what other trail is like this but in the middle of a city! This is my weekly ride trail and its a blast for all!

I gave this an excellent because its one of the few places I can actually take my kids to ride. My 6 year old has ridden it 4 times on her Huffy Seastar! But don't let this fool you, this is an awesome trail for experienced bikers for the following reason ... are you ready ... SPEED! Yes whoever said they hit 36 MPH is right. I've hit my top speed of 34 MPH on this trail. Rocks, logs, rivers are all great, but speed is what keeps a lot of us in the sport ... and you can haul it on this trail ... just keep an open eye at all times. Oh, don't forget to try the 12 miles of trails next to the Wolf River when you're at Shelby Farms. SAVE THE FARM!

i live right up the street from the wolf...and that was the first trail i ever rode coming into the sport...i read another guys comment (a beginner) saying that he thought it was intimidating the first part....well he is right....i remeber the first time i rode the trail.....i was with my dad and couple of friends and this guy named joel went down the first hill goin right into the woods...no more than 1 minute into the ride....and there was dried ditch he went into and tried goin up a steeper side to get more air than normal...and i will never forget him being cliped in and falling straight bak breaking his collar bone...so as a new rider that was a fright for me....but i kept through the trail and now when i ride its simple...if you know where the parts are you need to watch out....like dog walkers or hourse riders....but this a great trail for beginners or even intermediate skilled riders...but its also a very good trail to keep speed on.....but im gone...and one more thing who eve

This was a really fun ride. Not too technical, no steep climbs, no big down hills just a good fun ride. There are a lot of open single track sections where you are riding over what seems to be old pasture area and some nice sections in the wooded areas. There are some sections that you can get some good speed on, I registered 36 mph on my computer. The trails are pretty well marked and are in good shape, nice and hard packed, not too many muddy spots (considering the recent rain) or big ruts from horses. I did come across a few hikers on the trails and one horse so keep an eye out for those, there a few blind spots where you can be moving pretty good and not see someone coming. This would be a great place to take a beginner or a group of buddies out for a couple of loops. You can knock this one out in well under an hour if you are in decent shape, allow a little more time for the first timers. There is also a bike wash station which is excellent...and rare. I really enjoyed this one,

this trail is so smooth and fun. It is a trail that know matter how good you are you can have alot of fun and a good workout. You fly on these trail. I am from northwest alabama and I have rode some of the biggest and baddest trail around but this is by far my favorite trail. this is a trail you can take a first timer and have a blast and I promise they will become a life time mtb biker ,or you can can take you riding buddys and go a couple of laps and have an intense ride. I cant say enough good thing about this trail.

I am new to mountain biking. Matter of fact, this was my first ride ever. My input should help a beginner, I hope. The very first part of the trail is quite intimidating, but once you get going, if you haven't fallen, you get the juices going. Trail has a bit of everything, there is no drops to speak of, although some downhill parts have tight curves that are easy to miss and land on a tree. An abandoned cottage with a rotting Chevy of 50's vintage will remind you of Deliverance -according to my friend Ken, there are some graves there too, but just adds to the experience. There are some sights from the trail overlooking the part that you just have to see to enjoy it. After the first half, the trail gets easier, but picks up again if you decide to not take the cow pastures path and instead go back into the woods, where it's easy to miss the trail as this part is not well-known -perhaps this is why the out-of-towners don't rate this trail too high because they

It's a shame people like donald mcdougle frequent these message boards. It just shows immaturity and ignorance on his part. You, Mr. McDougle, give sports a bad rep. Stay away from Shelby County.

It is a decent enough trail. Those dissing it are just mad because a seemingly skilless trail caused them to crash and they are embarassed because of it. Children all grow up eventually.
