Trail Description:
The trail takes you through a large area of forest and clearings. There are some long and steep uphills with equal downhills following. It is a multi-trail trail which is why you can spend so much time on it. Some sections run near small cliffs and you ride through boulder fields with large crevasses. It is a must ride trail so bring extra water and a spare lung.

How to get there:
From Collingwood go west to the end of Sixth St. Turn left (south) on the townline and then turn right (west) on Grey County Road 19. About 3/4's of the way up the hill on your left side is a gravel road. Take it and follow it all the way to the top. There you will find a parking are and entrances to the trails.

Or once in Collingwood go the local bike shop, Kamikaze, for trail beta, directions or a guide. It doesn't take much to convince the employees to go for a ride. Their phone number is 705-446-1234. Enjoy the trail!

i have rode this trail only a few times but love it so much. It is amazing how you get lost and discover new and better trails each time you come here! Best trail ever!

Fitness is key. Downhills are awesome, be prepared to climb as much as you descend. Trails diverge in all directions in multiple intersections. the landscape is gorgeous. something different for every season. if possible, multiple suspension settings are key for good times. a stiff 6 should do you fine. many options for uphills. a topographic GPS is very beneficial. two cars and three or four riders can work. park one car at the bottom on the south side of the park, drive to the top and draw straws for the drive down. bring plenty of water, tools, and snacks.

This trail area is top notch. Can be very challanging if you choose. Substantial rock clusters make some trails unpassible for novice riders. If you want hard core technical riding this is for you. There are two entry points: One - top of the mountain, means you ride down first and then climb back up and Two - the opposite. The elevation changes drastically and there is a difficult twisting and rolling section. Take time off work for this, the best in ontario i've seen.

what are all of these other comments all about? This trail is great, make sure your conditioning is warmed up before going.

we are from guelph... and took the 2 hour drive to get there.. and it was excellent it was everything i thought it would be! we rode for about 3 hours and it was all new trail! good stuff.. the only down side is that it is easy to get lost so they need to mark the trails a wee bit better!

This is niagra escarpment not canadian shield. The rock is limestone not granite.

Word on the street is a detailed trail map should be avialable by next season. If you can't find it, all the better for us who can.

I have grown up in collingwood, riding three stage from the early 90's. In the beggining it was a couple of bikers riding through the fields and woods avoiding dirt bikes and monster trucks. Man how things have changed for the best. The trails are secound to none and even in peak season you can find a trail to ride alone. THe single track is well maintained and offers a great range of levels. Please take care if you ride there and make sure to stop in at Kamikaze for directions.

I am positive that "3-Stage" is just the name given to the trials on the ski hill called Blue Mountain. For online directions just google "blue mountain collingwood" and you will find everything you need....yup, no problem.
