Trail Description:
The trail climbs for the first 10 mi. (1700 ft.), then starts the fun up and down on a 4WD road. This last for over a mile or so then on to very fine singletrack. The singletrack runs along the rim of Glenwood Canyon about 1700 ft. above the Colorado River. Incredible views can be found here! The singletrack runs in and out of Pine and Aspen trees and is rarely over 16 inches wide. Lots of fun and fast banked corners and wide open straights (capable of handling 20-25 MPH). The ride finishes with a fun downhill section with everything from technical rocky sections to fast bermed corners. At the bottom of the trail on 7th Street (the end is on 8th) is the Glenwood Canyon Brewpub. A perfect ending to an excellent ride.
How to get there:
Take HWY 82 toward Aspen about 1 mile out of town, take a left up Red Canyon Road. Follow this main road until you take a left up Lookout Mountain Road. From Lookout Mountain Road, up about 8 switchbacks, is a parking lot on the right. From there you will follow the trail signs.
Additional Notes:
For a map, go to the Chamber of Commerce (11th & Grand Ave) or to Summit Canyon Mountain. They cost only a $1.

This trail may also be known as Forest Hollow to Scout Trail. If done as a loop you need to start somewhere in Glenwood and take new bike path south along Hwy 82. Cross 82 at Beujos and start climb up Red Canyon Road. Once at the top of lookout mountain when the trail really starts this is an awesome of trail.
