Trail Description:
These trails have lots to offer everyone

You can ride easy flat double track or some steep long climbing that will give your legs a pretty good workout

The trails drain very nicely so rain is not that big a factor unless it rains a lot then you may want to wait a day or so to ride. There are some very nice trails our here that most everyone would enjoy. Some of the hills, Tough Breaks and Horse Shoes have some nice climbs and Tough Breaks has a downhill like you won't find anywhere else in Texas. There is also some good intermediate trails that are a lot of fun. The intermediate trails give you some technical mixed with the ability to go fast at the same time. The easy trails are a good warmup for the harder trails

If you go out here during the summer months, be sure to bring lots of water. There is quite a bit of open trails and the sun will wear you down in a hurry

How to get there:
The Breaks is located 80 miles north of the Dallas - Ft. Worth Metroplex, five miles east of the small town of St. Jo, Texas on FM 2382.

From the DFW area drive north on I-35 to Gainesville. Drive west on Hwy 82 to St. Jo (22 miles). At the Dairy Queen, drive north on FM 2382 for 4.5 miles. At the bikes on the fence, go left on County Road 433 (gravel). Go down the hill one mile and look for the old 1942 fat tire bicycle on the left.

Rain doesn't affect this trail? Good description since it's now being rebuilt due to all the rain this summer. lol

One of the best trails I have riden here in texas. great place to camp out for the weeked and ride teh entire trail over and over ;).It has several loops for different skill levels, but my favorite s starting at GO WEST and hitting the tough breaks.Becareful on tough breaks, its really steep and fast with sharp turns all the way as you ride down a 400ft climb to the top. Tough climbs but very rewarding.
