Trail Description:
Powerlines has something for everyone. Being Florida there is only so much elevation change but is fun and physical nonetheless. There is singletrack, fireroads, fast bermed trails, as well as the rock quarry where good skills and strong legs will get you up some of the steep climbs and crazy descents!

How to get there:
Get off of I-75 on exit 76 going east. Make a left (north) on 43st and go to 16 st and make a left (west). Follow this road till the end. It turn into a dirt road that looks like a drive way. At this point if you look up you will see the powerlines. Follow these in down the fireroad and trails will be breaking off everywhere.

Rode it today. Great elevation changes. Some trails are hard to pick up because I doesn't get the use that the rock or Felasco do. Saw 4 other riders.

I am going to try to find these trails, I think I can see them on google earth at the end of 23rd, west of santa fe and the highway. But where is the rock quarry? People have been telling me that this place exists, but I cant see it on google earth.

Real bummer that it is being closed down. I went to school at UF from 97-99 and this place was like a second home. We used to ride from campus to the lines(ride all the trails) and ride back, my two favorite runs were the Kudzu field and the downhill pine trail. hate to hear it is no more :(

We went this morning. Other than the two-track that continues 23rd Ave, there were no visible trails. Somebody please post better directions. KazzaKonaKaren's directions will put you in a neighborhood or golf course.

I rode this trial not too long ago. It runs alongside some new development, I didn't have any trouble with police. Haven't jumped over the double fencing though, heard that's where the rest of the trails are.

We have been going there are week. Just discovered the place. Definitely is not a place for beginners or even early intermediate bikers unless they are ready for some very steep, muddy, sandy, trenched hills in the Gainesville area. Best advice, have your gears tuned, especially gears 1 and 2, get non-slip tires, and put straps on your pedals.
