Echo Ridge offers some great mountain biking for all levels of riders. The family can take the kids and find trails that are true beginner trails, but intermediate and experienced mountain bikers can find a lot of fun on some of these trails. As you head up towards Echo Ridge you will come to a berm several corners up from Echo Valley. Stop, park and take off from here. Ride to the top without ever riding on the road again (other than crossing it once). From the upper parking lot, head out No Where To Hide to the Connector Road. From there head up to 5-corners and take either Morning Glory or Ridge View all the way to Chaos Corner. Then it's back up to 5-Corners and off to Little Critter. There is a piece of single track that take the rider to North Junction. From there ride up to Somewhere To Ride and back to the Viewpont. From their head out the Shoe to the left and back to your car, where if you were really smart, you packed a half rack of Kokanee on ice. Cheers Herc

previous four comments are regarding echo ridge- not echo valley

In response to the previous comment, The majority of the trails have been restored to their previous singletrack status. "Nowhere/somewhere to ride" still have evidence of a cat, but other than that the trails are in great shape. They are even faster than they were before.

I used to really like this area -- mostly open ridge ride, but fast with lots of different options for loops. Went out there in July 2005 to find forest service "improvements" which include bulldozering out many of the single-track and jeep track trails to widen them. The FS propaganda is that this will make the cross country skiing better...and there's talk about adding snowmobile access as well. We can all thank the moronic Chelan Chamber of Commerce and local business Uncle Tim's Toys which owns concession rights for cabins and, surprisingly enough, snowmobile rentals in the echo valley area. Don't waste your time...

If you continue driving past the Echo Valley Ski resort, and follow the signs to Echo Ridge snowmobile area, you will be rewarded with many well marked trails at the top of the ridge.
