Ride Summary:
technical woodsy singletrack smack in the middle of Metropolitan Houston
Trail Description:
There are many trails to choose from here. Most are up and down, technically challenging trails through heavy woods. One trail is appropriately called the "roller-coaster" and the most technical trail is on the eastside, called "Cambodia." Some trails have been eroded, leaving a lot of sand and roots in their place.
How to get there:
From Loop 610 west, take the Woodway/Memorial Drive Exit and head East. After passing under the railroad trestle, take a right into the picnic area. Park near the Baseball diamond and head over to the trailhead sign which also information for you.
Additional Notes:
The Trail Hotline is 713-468-6824, ext. 2-WET. Be sure to call after any amount of rain, because these trails are sensitive, and HAMBRA has worked hard to keep them open. Also, mosquitoes are known to inhabit the woods.

Just rode all the trails this morning except the
Triangle. The green trail was the most fun &
actually navigable - maybe because it's been wet
lately, but the red, blue, & yellow were mostly roots.
Orange was fun. The only beginner trail is the fire
road (purple), which is fun and flat.

Started riding MP last fall and spend most my time on the Green trail and Triangle areas. It does get crowded, but these trails are a lot of fun and provide a good workout. The Triangle trails are the least crowded since they're unknown by most joggers and hikers. I wouldn't call either of these areas beginner's trails, as there are some fairly difficult sections to navigate.

I have just started running these trails, but I
used to ride them way back in the early 90's
before the closures. No color coded trail
markers and I used to get lost back there all
the time. It took me months of almost daily
riding before I could keep my bearings. I just
wanted to say that the old trails are there.
Just ran the Rollercoaster today. Not sure why
it's closed off. Looks like it would still be
one hell of a ride. Found and ran the Laos
section to Cambodia, too. That would be a tough
ride, but its still doable. For the life of me,
I couldn't find the Widowmaker. Does it still
exist?

I ride their every weekend. The yellow and orange
trails are great warm ups if you ride them fast. the
closed sections on the back of the bayou are good
rides. some steep grades and logs to jump. The
triangle is great too. last weekend i rode all of the
closed black grade trails. Really tough and
overgrown, but still worth it. If you want a great run
on these trails don't even think about doing on the
weekends. ride hard!

Glad people breaking leash laws are getting tickets. If you want to let your dog run loose we have lots of great dog parks. My dog turns into cujo when he is on a leash and another dog approaches. I have been taking him hiking a lot and expect the other dogs to be leashed!

Went last weekend it is still hell of alot of fun and a great work out. But 13 years ago it WAS GREAT. Now Uncle L.E.O.'s writting tickets while peaople breaking leash laws with dogs are EVERYWHERE even designated BIKE trails. Not to mention all the closures. Still rode all the trails with no concern to the signs. Just be ready to jump some logs. I would definately be down to spend a weekend to repair the trails.
