Trail Description:
An old Railroad bed follows Paint Creek. Trails branch off either along the bank or up the steep ravine. Because of this setup you dont get much of a workout here, but plenty of playtime.
How to get there:
Bloomer park is located right next to downtown Rochester on Paint Creek. Turn East off of Rochester Rd. South of Downtown, you can't miss it.
Additional Notes:
Day pass is $5.00, it used to be a State park but recently switched to township so your state passes won't work.

Best trails in Oakland County, in my humble opinion. Many different places to start your ride and ride all day without hitting the same trail twice (park any where in downtown Rochester, Yates Cider Mill, Bloomer Park, Industrial Park @ John R. Rd. and Avon, and lots more!) . Technical slow trails, fast open XC trails, fast and flowing single track, crazy downhills. If you look it can be found at bloomer. But that is where bloomer lacks. Trail markings and maintenance are lacking, but I kinda prefer it that way. Also never seems to crowded...hmmm, which reminds me don't tell anyone about Bloomer. Yeah, uh, never mind Bloomer is no good never ride there!

If that is all that Bloomer is to you....then we do not
need you here.
All you do is ruin the natural trails and litter.
Begone....and be well...somewhere else.

I've been riding this park for about 4 years now, the only way to enjoy this park is if you are into extreme riding and know all of the trails really well. The workout is carrying your bike up the flight of 180 stairs. If you ride with your seat high and/or with clip in pedals you won't enjoy yourself unless you enjoy going slow.

This trail was a huge disapointment for me. I ride about 3-5 times a week and love Poto, Pontiac and Maybury. Bloomer is totally poorly marked, no particular direction for the trails and the trails are not set up in a loop so you stand a chance of running into someone coming the other way with no one actually having the right of way. There is a lot of trail, with some awesome drops and switch backs and sweet down hill areas, but its all in little chunks and there's sand all over some areas by the river. I think this place could ROCK if someone was hired to shape it up. I read a review saying it was like an amusement park for bikes....well maybe at one point it was, but now the teeter-tottter is breaking down, the balancing stuff was falling apart and unridable. They do have a great track bike valodome there that I am coming back for next week. I heard that once a week a mountain bike crew shows up and marks the trail off and paints arrows on the ground and stuff so its more

It ‘rocks’ when you enjoy a good trail.
Say, have you checked out the Trail Advocacy link just on the left listed under the Trail Guides heading? Please remember it’s only as good as the effort that’s put into making it that way and it can disappear tomorrow. Please do your part. Thanks

Bloomer is really awesome, lots of ups and downs... nothing gets too advanced, but it is definatly still a challenge. I like how the trail follows the river. lots of narrow paths, ... not many chances to get up to high speeds. log jumps and balancing obstacles are an option and make it more fun. check it out!
