This trail rocks! (literaly) Lots of rocks, ruts and steep climbs. Some good technical areas. Some nice views too. You won't find better in SE Mich!

Trail is 9.4 miles long with a good 800 vertical feet of climbing. It also has a few cuts around the more technical sections.

Sams as Pontiac.
It ‘rocks’ when you enjoy a good trail.
Say, have you checked out the Trail Advocacy link just on the left listed under the Trail Guides heading? Please remember it’s only as good as the effort that’s put into making it that way and it can disappear tomorrow. Please do your part. Thanks

Trail is in State Rec area - you will need a parking pass if starting at trail head. Get a map from the park office and you can find spots to jump in while parking on a road.
This and the Highland Rec trail are the two best I have ridden in SE Michigan. Pickney is longer and faster - but does not have the mix. Pontiac has nice runs and climbs. Not as technical as Highland, but faster. The last downhill run before heading back to the trailhead is fast, tight, and one can sail off the last jump right before the road.

good ride, it's not pro though. Intermediate riders should definately ride it. Directions are wrong. Take M-59 to Pontiac Conservation area on ride hand side and go right. Short distance and turn right on Gale road and follow short way to first right into park.

I have been a lot of different places to bike and I think this is the best place to bike. If you like technical stuff, longs downhills, steep climbs and beautiful scenery; you will love Pontiac Lake.
